Network Development Services
South Pacific Communication Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter referred to as “SouthPaC”) is a company specializing in telecommunication Engineering Services and Supply of telecommunication equipment. The company was incorporated in March 2001 with the aim of providing a premium Telecommunication engineering services and supply of equipment, specializing in the Cellular ,Fixed environment and Internet data services
The core management team has a combined 150 man-years of hands-on experience in telecommunication network planning, development, operation and management.
The company has grown from strength to strength and by 2005 it has established its presence in Bangladesh and Indonesia. With more than 100 full time staff, working in various discipline or areas within the telecommunications services the company has managed to offered various engineering services from Core, Access and transmission network
Throughout its establishment the company has managed to Design, Install, test and commission more than 20,000 Base stations, 8000 Hops of microwave Transmission station and 1000 nodes of core network facility.
Out of 20,000 Base stations, 5000 units of them are for the LTE technology or 4G. The company experiences in implementing the LTE technology is with various telecommunication equipment manufacturer i.e Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE and Nokia Siemen. The trust given by this major equipment in the world has shown the strength in technical capability of Southpac.
Southpac has also Design and Install more than 5000 nodes for the core network with various technology. It is worth to note that the Southpac are the sole supplier of engineering services for the core network during Celcom single core integration project. Southpac was also involved in the modernizing the core network of Grameen Phone in Bangladesh with the installation testing and commissioning of more than 500 Nodes for Grameen Phone.
In the area of Microwave Transmission, SouthPac has work with Ericsson, Huawei and NEC, SM Radio to Design, Install and test their equipment, the type of equipment range from PDH and SDH equipment. We has also install half of Bangladesh SDH microwave network ranging from Dhaka to Chittagong and Dhaka to Sylhet. This is a major achievement as the SDH network has provided a redundancy for those parts of Bangladesh.
In Malaysia, SouthPac remain the sole supplier for the engineering services for Ericsson SDH equipment.
Southpac has also Install, Test and commission the Optical Fibre network equipment for Maxis/Huawei, Sacofa and Celcom Timur Sarawak. In this category SouthPac is the major service provider for Huawei in Sabah and Sarawak
On the supply of equipment, Southpac has Supply various support equipment to support the network operators. This include the repeater system. Point to Multipoint wireless system, Distributed Antennae system equipment and accessories, installation material for the microwave and Cellular base station, server and computer equipment.
Fot the distributed antenna services or in-building system, Southpac has a capability to design, implement, test and commission the complete system. These include the supply of various component, material and CME work for the said project. In the last few year, Southpac has supply, design, Installed and commission more than 100 in-building systems. Some of the major project undertaken by Southpac are as follows:-
